Bass Summit IV - 6:00pm Oct 9th, 2011
Music educator & tireless proponent of the contra bass, Rob Thorsen, presents the 4th annual Bass Summit @ dizzy’s on Sunday night, October 9th. This year’s show will feature another strong cross section of talented bassists: Gunnar Biggs, Evona Wascinski, Susan Wulff, Mark Dresser, Jory Hermann, Marshall Hawkins, Rob Thorsen, 11 year old classical phenom Noah Bailyn, & bass mentor Bert Turetzky with Joshua White piano & Duncan Moore drums, & Fernando Gomez percussion
Bassists will perform “featured” slots in addition to multi-bass pieces ranging from baroque, contemporary pop, classical, jazz, Latin, world music & more. There will also be a pre-performance outdoor jam from 6PM till 7PM featuring 3 bassists, drums, & percussion.
In addition, an education seminar led by renowned bassist & educator Barry Green will be held earlier that day at the SD Musicians Union from 2-4 pm.
7PM – $15 cover
