Blood
that’s my blood
dripping on the ground
what are you lookin at?
this should not be happening
that’s my blood
warm liquid on my skin
I am not ready
to leave this world
it’s way too soon
I’ve still got things to do
I’m feeling a little dizzy
blood’s filling up my shoe
that’s my blood
puddled on the ground
that’s my blood
g o n e without a sound
does it really end like this?
is this some kind of joke?
Blood

About This Song:
I wrote this song right after the Tucson shootings in early 2011 where 6 people were killed and 18 people where shot, including Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, who almost lost her life. Though random acts of violence are seemingly commonplace in our society, this one really got to me. What is wrong with us?
